In order to complete work package 5 of SIOS information on field stations, equipment and infrastructure is needed. For that your help is needed.
 
Piotr Glowacki - Responsible for WP5 has send out the following letter to all SIOS partners. If your institution has not filled in the questionnaire please help to see that it is done.

Dear all SIOS members.

Two weeks have passed since the General Assembly meeting In Longyearbyen. We are very concerned that so little has changed since then regarding the SIOS WP5 Questionnaire. Out of 52 institutions involved in the project, so far only 8 have shown any interest, i.e. have filled out the general information section.

Alarming is the fact that until now only 3 forms have been submitted regarding the essential sections of the questionnaire (infrastructure, transportation and vessels), out of which none regarding needs & requirements.

As you know, the submitted questionnaires are essential for the
establishment of databases and for preparation of the final report on WP5 task.

In my mail dated 8th of September 2011, you have been requested to fill out and submit the questionnaires by the end of October. Therefore there are only two weeks left to fulfill the obligation. Let me point out that the questionnaires do not only concern institutions that owe or operate infrastructure or vessels in Svalbard. One of the sections applies to infrastructure and transportation needs. Data collected was supposed to be the base for establishment of a logistics plan and proposals of necessary investments. Lack of information from you will largely spoil our common effort to achieve satisfactory outcome of the entire project.

In order to achieve the results that we all expect from the project that we participate in, I once again request you to fill out and/or ask your associates to fill out the questionnaires and submit them by the end of October.
